08/01/2025 - Learning Third Strike

Lately I've been learning Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, a highly-regarded classic that still sees competitive play today. Hopefully I can eventually reach such a level of competence that I will no longer feel intimidated by the 3rd Strike cabs at the yearly VsFighting proceedings (big FGC event hosted in Birmingham, UK).

While I initially opted to main Dudley (I enjoyed playing as him back in SSFIV), I ultimately decided to settle with Ryu. I prefer having a projectile at my disposal, plus Ryu's more straightforward toolkit should make learning the fundamentals of 3rd Strike easier. I'm having a lot of fun playing with friends at the moment, though recently I've started excepting challenges from random online players. Perhaps I'll see you online!
